(That’s me.)
Am really getting into surfing sites. Started off with about a dozen. It wasn't long before I found out I could not support them all. Not enough time in the day to do the required surfing to get ad impressions.
Reduced my list to
WebBizInsider,
Traffic Swarm, Traffic Gold Rush and
Solo Ads. That is not finite. Will shop around to see if there is something better.
Traffic Swarm is easy. It is free. Click on an ad and you can get 1 to 4 credits for your own ad impressions. Would not want to swear to it but I may have gotten 5 or 6 credits on occasion. Ad packages are available for sale.
WebBizInsider is getting most of my time. It is free, but ad packages and upgrades are available. You get 1 impression for each ad you view while surfing. You can view ads sent via e-mail and they are worth 5 credits. You can receive e-mail ads from other members. They usually assign a number of credits you can earn by clicking on their url. You can purchase downline so you can send your own e-mails. Based upon some ad tracking I have available, you get a lot of clicks. Can't tell how many converted. I have invested a few dollars for some downline and some ad credits to help with e-mail campaigns.
Traffic Gold Rush is kind of out of favor with me. As an upgraded member you only get .5 credit for each ad viewed. Plan on terminating a subscription that is due Jan. 3.
Solo ads sends you ads to view via e-mail. Click on the URL included and get 1 credit. Once you accumulate enough credits you can use them to send your own ad in e-mails. The more credits you accumulate, the more e-mails you can send. There are fee-based ad packages available. I have spent a few dollars here, as well.
I am going to have to look into ad tracking next. I get many ad and banner impressions on the traffic exchanges. Since my conversion rate on my products is still low, I suspect traffic exchanges are not the best way to promote. My thinking is that most surfers are interested in accumulating credits for their own ads and aren’t looking all that hard for new products.
The following are some notes about some of the things I encounter as I surf. Advertisers, check it out. You may find you are losing potential leads.
Due to time constraints my surfing is limited to just 3 sites, sometimes only 2. Some problems are due to my impaired vision. What is suggested is that I miss checking out some opportunities due to web page design. I suspect there are many others that are vision impaired, as well, and some of the advertisers are missing prospects. There are just a handful of design features that could be changed and would improve the advertisers chances to sign up more leads and prospects.
It is easy to build a web page that many vision impaired can deal with.
While we are not all blind or near blind, larger and darker text would help. Some text and backgrounds are not compatible. A page stuffed full of content inherently means it has small print and icons compounded with text colorazation against incompatible backgrounds. Not worth examining. A real turn off is light text against a light background.
Next some ads not related to the above. While surfing some ads don't load or load very slowly. Banners are blank or not easily read.
A personal dislike is for pop-ups that cover up the ad . They request you blindly sign up for something left to your imagination. I don't even bother. Some will allow you to close the window, but that is an imposition.
One rule advertisers should follow is to test their site and ensure that it produces desired results. No use wasting time and perhaps money on something that doesn't work.
From some of the material I read, a traffic exchange ad should be simple and get directly to the point. I can 'see' that because I don't waste my time reading long dissertations. I need to get to the next ad to see if it might be something I need.
There is probably more, but I suspect many of you may not get this far into my blog. Oh well, maybe next time.
