Since this is my first post about how I am faring in the internet marketing community, it is appropriate I should start with my first effort, the SpiderWeb Marketing System. Please consider my introductory remarks to the left, indicating I am in the 95% percentile of those that are not too successful and have skill sets or lack of such that goes with that category.I started with SpiderWeb Marketing (SW) in June of 2008 and am engaged with it, still. My biggest obstacles were the usual. No leads and small budget. If you don't read their splash page and listen to their video carefully, you may think you are guaranteed to generate leads with little or no effort. I received a message from a young lady in DirectMatches that had just joined SpiderWeb. Her question to me, as an SW member, asked how does she get leads. Sounded as if she expected it to happen automatically. She is probably not the only one.
They have videos that help you set up Google and Yahoo ad campaigns. Tried that and the number of leads generated did not justify the expenditure. They also help set you up on networking sites, 2 of which were considered income generators. To this point, not for me. Zenzuu has not paid anything to anybody from what I hear. Wowzza, much the same, but that is another story.
Other income streams are still a question mark for me. Global Domains International (GDI) has not earned anything for me, mostly because I can't generate many leads that convert to SW members. When they do, they don't seem to get past the 7 day free trial. I am trying to help them. When I send a welcome e-mail, I tell them what a great bargain and tool GDI is for them to use with the SW system. Not much response that I can see.
It appears that I am the only SW member on the planet that can't install Tax Advantage on my PC. Worked with their support and can't get an activeX module to work. I don't have any problems with activeX in any other applications I have installed. ???? Since the object of SW is to generate income through applications that require fees and or monthly subscriptions, that is an income stream I can't participate in.
Wowzza was set up as an income stream. It required a subscription fee that was somewhat high. SW just dropped it from the income streams. Most likely because not many SW members signed up. None of my referrals got past the free look. Wowzza figures aren't available. A real problem is that there is no way on Wowzza to see if you have a downline or forced matrix members. Can't determine if you earned money or contact your downline.
The customized blog sounded like a great concept and would become a good income stream. It has not materialized.
I know, I know, SW says they are in beta and if you have a problem with that then you have the option to drop out. Launch is supposed to be near.
Commission Junction and AdSense can't be considered an income stream within SW, since there is no automated blog to apply them to. I have used them on a couple of my websites and this blog.
Bottom line (maybe), I don't ever expect to get much out of SW except some leads. The leads that I have generated take a look at SW, but don't seem to sign up for any thing that will cost them money. I believe many expect this free system to earn them multiple streams of income without investment on their part. When they find out that it costs money to make money with the SW system, they go on to something different. We are all within the 95%. I am sure there are some that make money, especially those that can afford to sign up for the SW Black Widow program.
Comments welcome. Positive or negative or even commiserating. Help me get out of the 95%.
