Is GoToBullion Good or Bad?

Been getting behind with my blog. Couple of reasons. Took a trans-Atlantic cruise that lasted almost 3 weeks. Was a nice get-a-way. Been trying very hard to make my latest venture into Internet affiliate marketing work. So far no banana. I will explain.

Before starting, if anyone besides me reads this, I would really appreciate feedback. Good or bad. I can take it.

Found a program that seems really promising and it appeals to me. Signed up with GoToBullion on whick launched on Feb. 26. I was in way up front. It purports to be a program for both marketers and non-marketers. I fit into the second category by the fact that I have not been successful marketing GoToBullion. As a "non-marketer", I am not accruing the promised results.

The program is quite complicated. Best I can do here is give a brief overview with the understanding that there is more to the program. The briefest summary is that for $29.99 per month you earn Discount Travel Certificates and accrue gold bullion. There is a whole spiel about how one should acquire gold bullion at today's prices, because the value is going to go up dramatically due to the world economic conditions.

The way to earn gold bullion has a very complicated formula. Won't even try to fully explain it here. Seems the complicated formula is not working to my benefit. To acquire gold you must recruit others and/or have 'positions' assigned to you. In order to earn gold at the first level you must have 12 positions. I know, you say "What the..". Seems the only positions I am getting are those I purchase. That is done with the monthly membership fee and Travel Packages you can purchase. At this rate it will take me a year of $29.99 monthly membership fees to earn .03 oz. of gold bullion. Tha is about $30. Doesn't sound promising. Oh yes, I will have 12 travel certificates and no wish to go anywhere. Maybe I can give them away.

As I said, I am in the role of 'non-marketer', not by choice, but because my recruiting efforts have produced nothing. Here is what I have tried:

  • First tried Google adwords. Hod 50,000+ impressions. No results and had to stop because of the expense.

  • Belong to 2 networking sites, Direct Matches and AdlandPro. Have upgraded. Published classified ads and blogs. Sent e-mails to other members.

  • Tried a few surfing sites, WebBizInsider being the primary. Upgraded and paid for advertising. Have had many 1,000s exposures. No results. Will have to cut back on the expense.

  • Purchased membership in ListJoe which allows me to send 500 e-mails every 3 days. 1,000s of e-mails and site ads with no results. ListJoe costs $66.00 for six months. Will have to give it up.

  • Currently using Global NPN auto-responders. Have loaded 1,000s of double optin leads. No results. This costs $19.95 per month. Will be able to use this if I try other affiliate programs.

  • Even trying Twitter. Still no results.

  • Some other one-off advertising programs have been tried without success.

Seems bananas are hard to come by.

If something doesn't start working, am going to have to cut back to the bone on expenses. Worst case, admit defeat and quit.

Internet Explorer 8 - Just not ready

Seems like everywhere you go on the Internet there is a promo for IE8.

Wait!!!!! Don't download IE8 unless you have the time to install it, find out that it does not deliver on its promises and then uninstall it.

I tried IE8 for a few days hoping I could get it working correctly. That is, it claims it will speed up your session and provide more security. I found that most pages I looked at did not fully load or if they did it was very slowly and possibly with errors. The compatibility mode seems to be a placebo. There was no before and after difference discernible when surfing the Internet.

It seems Microsoft is continuing beta testing on us without calling it beta testing. How will we be able to know when IE8 is ready to use with the functionality Microsoft claims it has? It will be a while before I try it again. Will look for independent positive reviews from users before downloading.

When Googling for answers every registry cleaner asserts it will fix your IE8 problems. I had Max Registry Cleaner so I ran it. No improvement. Ran a test cleanup from the RegCure web site. RegCure claimed it found several hundred errors. In order to remove them you must purchase the program. Did that and it cost me $30. Ran it and fixed the errors. IE8 did not run any better. Too late, lesson learned (again).

One thing worked properly. I was able to uninstall IE8 and revert back to IE7. Please be aware that the uninstall procedure varies between XP and Vista. Fortunately I found help by Googling 'uninstall IE8'.

I Screwed Up

Well, I screwed up. Heard some time ago that you should not unsubscribe from unsolicited e-mail. It just confirms your e-mail id.

Was getting too many unsolicited e-mails and without thinking I tried to unsubscribe. in order to clean up my inbox. Well, a week later I am receiving 4 times as much junk e-mail. That is not to mention e-mails about oll the millions of dollars I have won or inherited.

Today I received an e-mal from the absolute worst scam on the Internet. It was a death threat. To read about it go to http://www.blogcatalog.com/search.frame.php?term=death+threat+scam&id=1f9df8c45ae313a93af3cd1eeec18894 . Scroll down and read it. I received it word for word.

It seems to start with my genealogy web site. Have tried another tactic. Went to http://www.searchenginegenie.com/Dangerous-user-agents.htm and copied the latest dangerous user agents to my robots.txt file. Too soon to tell if it will work. Hope something works. My web site and e-mail id have been out there for years. Have made many family contacts and have used the id for most of my personal correspondence. Changing it will be a very last resort.

Should anyone read this besides me, contact me by leaving a comment and share your ideas with me.

GateWay2Hits just launched.

Keep in mind, this blog is mostly for my consumption, but I don't mind if
others stumble across it. If you do, leave a comment. I can take it.
This is somewhat long, but it is about my experience with GateWay2Hits
since Nov. 5, 2008.

I won't get rich with GW2H, but should come out ok. By that I mean, I did not
spend much on promotion and the one time entry fee is $29.95. It launched on
April 8 and few days later I have covered my costs.

Hooray!!!!

My matrix has 1,500+ downline. Only about 30 are my direct referrals. The
sign up rate has slowed down to a trickle. Expect that a few others in my matrix
of 1,500+ to sign up and I should make a very small profit. At this point only
45 in my matrix has signed up and only 4 are my referrals with one buying a
re-ntry.

One wonders if the pay processors GW2H has made available are part of the
problem. One choice is AlertPay and they don't take credit cards.
That is another story having to do with MasterCard and Visa putting the screws
on some Internet pay processors.

SolidTrustPay is the second pay processor. Knowing about the AlertPay
problems, I signed up with STP prior to launch. That was a forgettable
experience. In order to be able to use a credit card you must send them a
copy of your latest statement and physically sign an agreement form and send it
back to them. That seemed to be of no avail when I paid for GW2H.
Had to fill out all my information again, just did not have to send in my
invoice and signed agreement.

I can see why some would just forget it for the GW2H experience, especially
if they see that they don't have enough referral commissions to cover their cost
and that there is not much in web site promotion tools .

I notice that signups are members that joined the matrix within the first few
weeks of pre-launch. They have a vested interest in GW2H. I suspect
that the last 20,000 of the 30,000+ that joined the GW2H may not see value in
paying the one time $29.95 fee. In fact, support at GW2H sent an e-mail
out that many were PPC ad clickers and that they click on opportunities that can
be joined free. They typically don't pay to become members. See my comments to come about what you get when you pay.

I get a notice periodically that someone has joined my matrix. A couple
were my own direct referrals, however, they have not signed up. I sent
them a 'ata boy', but that is all I can do.

Not sure yet if the advertising provided by GW2H will be effective. For the
entry fee you get a "block ad" for 90 days with Top Global Services. GW2H allows
additional re-entries to your matrix for a one time fee of $29.95. For each, you
get another TBS block ad. When you re-enter as your own referral, you get
a direct referral commission of $10 and a bonus commission of $1. This lowers t
he cost of your re-entry.

Not sure if re-entry improves your chances for additional spillover entries to
your matrix. At this point, all I see is that, after 90 days, there is no more
available from GW2H except to check in every once in a while to see if your
matrix is growing and subscribing new members.

GW2H pre-launch advertising about their product and
income opportunity sounded great. I expected The Budweiser
Team and it appears I got a donkey and cart. Sort of like a "one trick
pony".

There is virtually no communication from support. Would
hope that they would say if anything else is planned.

There is a second trick. the script for the url
tracker that is offered does not work, at least not when I tried it.

Now that GW2H has launched, you would think they would
provide updated promotional materials.

I am at a loss on how to promote GW2H. Joining a matrix is not a lure,
especially at $29.95, and the advertising vehicle is not easy for me to support.

My guess is, that after those of us that filled our matrix during pre-launch
will do as I am sure I will do. Pay our $29.95, get some commissions and when
they run out, go on to other programs.

The benefits and regular cost of Top Global Services, as they state them:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Large Block Ads

Place your image within the best viewable zone on our Block Ad page!

Your Block Ad will be visible for 1 year

Upload your own picture/image!

The most clicked Block Ads are listed on the Top 10
page and will receive additional clicks by being on that page!

Each box ( 10 X 10 pixel) costs only 100.00 USD!

You can buy as many boxes as you wish!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Top Global Services launched 3 days before Gateway2Hits on 04/05/09. It
is new to the Internet. Their FAQ and 'About Us' pages are trying to trade
on someone else's success with this concept a few years ago. I guess they have to try.
What else can be done when there is no track record or any testimonials available.

At this point I can't see investing in something costing that much for an ad
vehicle that doesn't impress me. Can't see how my ad will be out there for
others to see. Then if it is, who will browse the pixel ads looking for,
whatever....

Want to see what a 'block ad' is? Go to:
http://gateway2hits.com/default.php?id=166
and click on BLOCK AD. For
reference, mine is 10 to the right and 4 from the bottom. My picture image is a
pinwheel. Hover your cursor on it to see my ad.

Excuse the repeated use of the 'I' word, but 'I' am relating my experience
and opinions.

Will update this later, either to confirm what I have said or to indicate
whether my opinions have changed.

Later....

Surfing for Credits

Hi,

Just a teeny rant.

I have touched on this before and said I was not sure if manual TE's are effective. Seems like a lot of time consuming surfing to get 1,000's of impressions with what appears to be no return.

I will continue to surf on a couple of sites to look for the clicks that may be few and far between. I mean, if no one looks you can't make a referral.

Since I have to surf to some extent, there is one thing I dislike very much. Maybe someone having a surfing site will see this.

When a pop-up or a drop-down form covers the message, I quit checking out the site to see if it is something I could use. I just accrue my credits and wait for the next site. Sometimes I think both the advertiser and I lose out.

A Milestone Reached

Before I continue, I want to remind you that this is a personal blog of my Internet marketing experiences. See 'My Internet Marketing Experience' on the left. I don't mind sharing them with others, should they find their way here. Who knows, I may get a visitor that will help me with my Internet marketing efforts.

I probably don't have to say this but, you may click on any hot link to chech out GateWay2Hits and/or Viral Co-op.

After almost seven months of learning, experimenting, working long hours with the goal to earn money on the Internet, I reached a milestone. Received my first commission check from Viral Co-op.

So far Viral Co-op is showing promise. I advertise my URL for GateWay2Hits with them. It is providing hits and now income. The hits are logged and reported by GateWay2Hits. Unfortunately, the origin of a conversion is not availablel. The number of conversions for GateWay2Hits is slowing down. Is it co-incidental that the day I signed up with Viral Co-op, I also got 2 GateWay2Hits conversions?

Gateway2Hits is working well for me, too. Since early November I have been working on my 3X10 forced matrix with much spillover. I now have 780 members in my downline, reaching the 10th level. Upon launch in early March I expect to receive between $500 to $1,000 in commissions if my matrix does not grow any larger. Still have a month and a half to work on it and also expect to get growth from my downline members and spillover.

As they say at Viral Co-op, "Keep the Snowball Rolling".

To your Internet marketing success.....

This Provoked Some Thought

One of my projects is GateWay2Hits. It has been successful for me to this point. See prior blog posts.

One feature I like is that it tracks my hits. Today I checked and found that there were seven hits so far. Will get more as the day goes on. Depending on when I surf, network and send e-mails, I get 50 to 300 hits per day.
They were from:

AdlandPro

DirectMatches

ListJoe

WebBizInsider

TrafficSwarm

CreditAdsDepot

My co-op ad with GateWay2Hits

I got 1 sign up for GateWay2Hits. The problem is, I can't tell where the sign up was obtained. That would be good information in order to know what is working.
I know, I should try to find an ad tracking site. Tried one a couple of months ago and it went out of business. Don't want to do that to another one. :) :) :)

When I surf I know I get impressions from the surf sites, but rarely do I get a click on the site. ListJoe is where I send 500+ e-mails every 3 days. AdlandPro and DirectMatches are Networking sites which I work. GateWay2Hits offers the co-op advertising plan where they rotate my URL along with their own and other member's URLs.

Interesting, but no banana.

To your continued Internet marketing success....

This inexpensive advertising is KILLING IT.

Hello Fellow Internet Marketer,

You've got to check this out. It's a seriously effective and
inexpensive way to drive traffic to your web site and get more
prospects and sales.

The only thing is... you have to do it now since the very nature
of this makes it really LIMITED (you'll see what I mean).

For less than .14 per day, you can get an ever-increasing
snowball of visitors to your site, and they aren't just junk
visitors who never buy.

Instead of me trying to explain, go here and see what this is
all about and how it works.

http://www.viralcoop.com/r/joefrain

I think you'll be impressed at the genius of this like I was.
It's almost too easy. Especially for being so inexpensive!

Change of Direction

Here is a progress report on my web experience.
Not bragging or complaining. Just the facts.

After about 7 months online trying to earn income with affiliate relationships I have to admit that I am in the 95% that have trouble becoming successful. Am now evaluating what I have been doing and try some different tactics.

Just trying to get someone to view this blog is tough. I pit it in a signature of many of my e-mails. Have set it as a personal page on networking sites. No response. If you have found me, read through and leave a comment. Good or bad, I can handle it.

First, I am finding that traffic exchanges are not effective (for only me?). Most, if not all members, surf to earn credits so that their page will be surfed. No one seems to click on the ad pages as they surf. Of the 1,000s I have seen while surfing, I haven’t click very many.

I have earned thousands of credits surfing, purchased credits, purchased downline and tried an upgraded membership. Cannot attribute any clicks to WebBizInsider or Traffic Swarm.. They provide 1,000s of impressions through my efforts, both free and purchased. The effort to get impressions is huge and the payoff is nil.

ISOR is much the same. Purchased advertising to no avail. Their impressions and clicks are tracked so there is no guesswork in this. They do offer other functions that are pretty good. Free auto-responders, list builders, free web page, free advertising and more free functions. You may like it for that and I plan to keep my membership. After all, I purchased the upgrade for reasonable one-time fee.

Have tried a couple of other traffic exchanges, but it is not possible to support more than a couple of surfing sites. Again. Too much time without any payoff, Surfers look for whatever time period is necessary and go to the next web page. Even me.

Will drop EarthFriendlyBiz. It requires that you belong to a number of traffic exchanges with upgrades to make it work. By now, you know how I feel about traffic exchanges. There is not enough time.
Have posted free classifieds and banners on several sites. They are ignored, even by me. I think there are a couple more like that I have. Will drop them , too.

My proof is the dozen or so sites I have promoted. No sale. Some are even free.

My switch will be incremental. First, I will keep my memberships in WebBizInsider and Traffic Swarm. Then I will decrease my surfing efforts to give me more time with AdlandPro. Who knows, someone may click and convert somewhere, sometime.

Second, I am going to stop my subscriptions to MonsterList and GDI. Can’t track any clicks to them either. Purchased downline so I could e-mail members. Nothing. Had a couple of e-mail problems with GDI. Not worth the effort to resolve. No one takes ownership of issues that span more than one entity. Fingers point in all directions. Will examine some other relationships in more detail, as well, and eliminate non-contributors.

Third, I have joined AdlandPro. They have more functionality than any one marketer can use. There are many free and paid options. Going to use the money gained from deleted memberships to finance an ad for GateWay2Hits. Will select the functions I need to utilize AdlandPro to my advantage. If they prove effective, I will invest more in advertising. Effective will be defined by whether I get any sign ups for GateWay2Hits or not.

AdlandPro will require a significant effort since I plan to use their networking function. They have 10s of thousands of members and so far they seem to be very active. That is a whole lot of potential leads!

My purpose here is not to refer you to AdlandPro, but if you think it may have the functionality you need to promote your products, click on the banner.

AdlandPro World's Classifieds

Get Linked from 16,000 + sites with one click.

Oh heck, look at GateWay2Hits, as well. It is the one bright light I have encountered. See a prior blog about its promise.

Good luck with your Internet marketing efforts . Check back later to see if my Internet life has improved.
